Abstract: Jia-Chun Lin is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Information Security and Communication Technology at NTNU (Norwegian University of Science and Technology). She was originally from Taiwan. She previously held the position of Assistant Professor at the same department from March 2019 to March 2022. Prior to that, she was a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Informatics at University of Oslo from June 2015 to March 2019. She received her PhD degree from National Chiao Tung University (NCTU), Taiwan, in 2015, and her master's degree from Tunghai University, Taiwan, in 2005. She has been a visiting scientist at UC Berkely, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, and University of Göttingen in 2007, 2013, and 2014, respectively. Her academic achievements include receiving an education award (utdanningspris) from IIK, NTNU, in 2022, a University Lecturer Qualification Scholarship (Kvalifiseringsstipend for universitetslektorer) from NTNU in 2019, and the Excellent Student Paper Award from NCTU Taiwan in 2015. She also received two visiting scholarships for research stays at the University of Göttingen and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany, in 2013-2014. Her research areas include time series analysis, anomaly detection, IoT, security, privacy, machine learning, deep learning, cloud computing, and parallel & distributed computing. She has around 18 years of experience working on research projects and played a leading and coordinating role in many of them. She is currently the leader of Work Package 3 of NORCICS (Norwegian Centre for Cybersecurity in Critical Sectors). In addition, she is a member of the Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience Group (CISaR) and the e-Health and Welfare Security (e-HWS) research group at IIK, NTNU. She is now supervising two PhD students, two master students, and around 10 bacheloar students. She has supervised 7 master students and more than 40 bachelor students. She serves as the Publicity Chair of IoTBDS and Session Chair of Data Processing at IoTBDS 2023. Additionally, she contributes to program committees for DSAA 2023, ICGEC 2023, COMPSAC 2023-2024, and ICAPAI 2024. Her administrative roles include overseeing expert committees for academic positions and serving as an internal examiner for PhD and bachelor projects. As a dedicated reviewer, she contribute to journals such as the Journal of Supercomputing, IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems (TPDS), Concurrency and Computation: Practice and Experience (CCPE), Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence, Computers in Industry, etc.
